Sean Young is headed back to The Young and the Restless. The well-known actress is extending her run as Meggie. Young made her Y&R debut last month, but the writers have developed a new story that will bring the actress back for several more weeks. The Blade Runner star is expected to air into August.

It looks like Sean Young (Meggie) is enjoying her daytime gig. The actress, known for her work in feature films, is extending her stay on The Young and the Restless. Young, who appeared in a handful of episodes last month, will be back on-screen next week for another round as the sultry barmaid with eyes for Victor Newman.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Young "will return July 14 and is expected to stick around through August."

Young's extended stay bolsters daytime's claim as a viable and worthwhile venture for film and primetime television stars. Young, Eric Roberts, and David Hasselhoff are just three of the recent big names to appear in Genoa City.

Across the dial, General Hospital has made headlines with its casting of Golden Globe winner James Franco. GH also recently signed primetime vets Michael Learned and Adrienne Barbeau for short-term engagements.

Young previously touted working on Y&R as a chance to reunite with her good friend, Emmy winner Eric Braeden (Victor Newman).

"Getting the chance to work with my dear friend Eric Braeden, one of the true gentlemen in entertainment, was certainly a deciding factor for me," the 50-year-old Young told People magazine, "as well as wanting to get back to work after taking a few years off to raise my kids."

Young is expected to air through August.
