What happened during the week of October 20, 2014

Hope told Deacon to choose between his daughter and new girlfriend. Deacon was ready to walk out on Quinn, but she seduced him back into her bed. Ridge admitted to Katie that he was allowing Caroline to have a crush on him so Caroline would side with him in his bid for power. Ridge and Caroline spent one last intimate session together. Ridge showed her that his talents were returning, and the designers said goodbye to their partnership and each other. Eric decided that Ridge would be the next CEO, and angry that it wasn't Rick, Maya publicly accused Ridge and Caroline of having an affair. Caroline admitted to kissing Ridge and begged Rick to forgive her.

What happened during the week of October 20, 2014

Kate and Lucas tried to convince Sami to defend herself or end up in jail. Paige was upset and confused because J.J. refused to have sex with her. Victor offered to help Kate and Sami get out of a legal jam. Hollywood offered to make a movie about Sami's life as a DiMera. Kristen tricked Eve and Anne so she could get the goods on Theresa. Brady walked out on Kristen for the last time. Kristen hit paydirt and got proof that Theresa had hit John. John and Marlena talked about their future. Chad forced Kate and Sami to tell him the truth about what had been going on in the company. Jill returned to town and put a wrench in Eve's plan to break up Paige and J.J. Paige, J.J., and Rory searched for Jill. Nicole and Sami made peace and mourned E.J. as friends. Nicole gave Sami good advice. Sonny feared his and Will's marriage was in trouble. Clyde threatened Jordan to keep her in line. Ben and Chad had words. Clyde continued to pursue Kate.

Silas managed to stop Ava's labor. Afterwards, Silas and Ava talked about the past and Kiki. Ava revealed that she hadn't told Silas about Kiki because Ava had been afraid that the police would charge Silas with attempting to murder Nina if the police knew about his secret love child. Madeline agreed to help Nina get Ava's baby. Madeline resorted to threats to get Rosalie to divulge Ava's whereabouts. Franco decided to enlist his mother's help to exact his revenge against Carly for sleeping with Sonny. Meanwhile, Sonny sent Shawn to Ferncliff to collect Heather because Sonny intended to carry out the plan to frame Heather for Franco's murder. Sonny had a vision of Connie, who tried to dissuade Sonny from killing Ava and Franco. Julian was surprised when Alexis mentioned that Jerry Jacks had resurfaced and claimed to have kidnapped Luke. Tracy turned to her loved ones for help securing shares of ELQ to meet Jerry's ransom demands. Everyone except Alice denied Tracy's request. Jerry agreed to accept the shares that Tracy had managed to pull together in exchange for Luke's release. Michael asked Anna to talk to Sabrina because Carlos claimed that Ava had forced Carlos to falsely confess to A.J.'s murder by threatening Sabrina. Jason remained unaware of his true identity so he continued to use the name Jake. Jake/Jason and Elizabeth grew closer. Carly had an encounter with Jake/Jason in Franco's art room.

Neil recognized Devon's ringtone, but Hilary fibbed that the phone Devon had left in the hotel bed was hers. Hilary turned down Neil's suggestion that they relive their wedding night in New York. Lily suspected that a nauseous Hilary was pregnant. Summer learned that Victor had tricked her into signing documents for Phyllis' experimental treatment. Phyllis found out that Summer and Austin were married, and she demanded that the couple get an annulment when she discovered that he was a felon. Phyllis met Kelly and concluded that Kelly had broken up Billy and Victoria's marriage. Stitch kissed Ashley in response to her "love potion," and she was thrilled that the compound worked. Stitch was arrested after Jeffrey filed a lawsuit against the hospital because Stitch had treated him. Billy and Chelsea decided to move in together. Ian was arrested. Victor was livid when he learned that Nikki had put herself in danger to trap Ian. Nikki denied Paul's accusations that she'd fallen off the wagon, but she continued to drink in secret. Dylan was released from prison, and he wondered why Avery hadn't told him that Joe was in town. Michael scheduled more tests to determine whether he had cancer. Madame Isadora predicted that Sharon wouldn't need Mariah's blue anklet. Nick and Sharon planned a Halloween wedding. Mariah told Sharon that Sharon had said something in her sleep about "her" paternity. Phyllis confronted Sharon.
