The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has released this year's list of pre-screen nominees in the performance categories of Daytime Dramas for the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Announcement Buzz Fizzles Out

Call it an April Fool's joke one week early. Or maybe it was just a case of hype going a little too far.

As reported earlier in the week by soapcentral.com, the Internet was abuzz with word that ABC Daytime was readying a major announcement by week's end. Though the source of the initial rumor remains unknown, the announcement was expected to be a jaw-dropper and ABC was even said to have asked the soap magazines to save room on their front covers for the story.

In an effort to streamline their different television properties, the Disney-ABC Television Group has named Brian Frons the president of the newly-created Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group. The promotion elevates Frons from his position as head of ABC Daytime, a position he has served in for the past three-and-a-half years.

Evans Continues Work for City of Hope

Actress Andrea Evans will reprise her role as City of Hope's 2006 Celebrity Ambassador for its annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer program, held in cities across the country. This will mark the sixth consecutive year Evans has dedicated her time and efforts to the Walk and its drive to cure breast cancer.
