In May 2010, Llanview Police Detective Theo Price was called in to help investigate the attempted murder of lothario Robert Ford. That case eventually led police to attorney Elijah Clarke, who was leading a secret life of crime using numerous false identities. Detective Price was secretly tailing Eli when he ran into his younger brother, high school student Darren Price, and warned Darren not to mention his police work to anyone. Eli overheard Darren tell his girlfriend that his brother was on an assignment, allowing him to plot his escape. Det. Price was knocked unconscious by a couple of thugs, and when he awoke Eli was gone. What Theo didn't realize was that the thugs were actually hired by Clint Buchanan to abduct his nephew, David Vickers, who was with Eli at the time.
