Crystal Hunt to exit after "major story"

For many fans, Crystal Hunt's time on One Life to Live has been dubbed a "fiasco." It isn't necessarily that fans dislike the actress, but many do have strong feelings about her character, Stacy Morasco. Soon, Stacy may be nothing more than a memory: Hunt has been let go from the show.


One of the more disliked characters in recent One Life to Live history will soon be making a hasty exit from Llanview. Less than one year after making her first appearance, Crystal Hunt (ex-Lizzie Spaulding, Guiding Light) will make her very last appearance.


Buzz surrounding Hunt's dismissal from One Life to Live first surfaced over the weekend on soap journalist Carolyn Hinsey's Facebook page. While the show's publicity department has declined to comment on Hunt's contract status, it has teased that there is ample story ahead for Hunt and her alter ego.


"Crystal Hunt will be in major story in the coming months as the story of Stacy and her baby builds to a climax," a One Life to Live spokesperson said in a statement. "As far as rumors that she is leaving the show, we do not comment on rumors."


Fans never quite took to former-stripper Stacy Morasco. The role was a far cry from that of spoiled rich kid Lizzie Spaulding, the Guiding Light role Hunt played from 2003 to 2006. Though Lizzie often came off as a brat, it didn't stop fans from rooting for her. Hunt's work on Guiding Light earned her an Outstanding Younger Actress nomination in 2005.


Hunt first aired on One Life to Life on February 5. Her swan song is expected to come just in time for February Sweep 2010, though a final airdate has yet to be released.
