Former Passions star Daphnee Duplaix joins the cast of One Life to Live this spring in the role of Rachel Gannon. Duplaix will be ushered into the Llanview canvas when her on-screen dad, Hank Gannon returns. Hank will again be played by actor Nathan Purdee. Three other actresses have played Rachel since 1992.

One Life to Live is preparing for the return of two familiar characters: Hank and Rachel Gannon. While fan-favorite Nathan Purdee will reprise the role of Hank, show executives have opted to recast Rachel Gannon with Daphnee Duplaix.

Duplaix is no stranger to daytime viewers. Then known as Daphnee Duplaix Samuel, the actress appeared on NBC's Passions from 2004 to 2008 as Valerie Davis. The role was later "recast" with a male performer when it was revealed that Valerie was a hermaphrodite. Prior to joining Passions, Duplaix made numerous appearances in primetime, including stops on The District, My Wife and Kids, The Parkers, and The Steve Harvey Show.

Since leaving Passions, Duplaix has been taping episodes of Playboy TV's new game show, Show Us Your Wits. A July 1997 Playmate, Duplaix has appeared in numerous videos for the adult entertainment giant.

Three other actresses have played Rachel over the years. Ellen Bethea originated the role in 1992. She remained with the show until 1995, when Mari Marrow took over the role. Marrow lasted less than a year in the role before Rachel was again recast in April 1996. This time, Sandra P. Grant assumed the role. Grant stayed in Llanview for just over two years before exiting. Bethea would return for a series of special appearances in 2000, 2001, 2002, and May 2005.

Duplaix makes her first appearance in April 7.
