Fumero's Cristian to rise from the "dead"

One year after his dramatic exit from One Life to Live, a show spokesperson confirms that actor David Fumero (Cristian Vega) will return to the fictional town of Llanview.


Fumero's exit comes with a typical bit of soap opera obstacle - his character is presumed dead. The details of how Fumero will be written back into the show are being kept under wraps, but it is expected to tie in to the show's Santi mob family plot.


Fumero exited One Life to Live in October 2003. However, the actor had expressed a desire to leave the show well before his final exit. Then-executive producer Gary Tomlin had managed to convince Fumero in 2001 to extend his stay for an additional two-year cycle.


Fumero originally joined One Life to Live in June 1998, assuming the role of Cristian from Yorlin Madera. Madera originated the role in 1995.


Fumero makes his first return appearance on November 5.
