Less than one week after One Life to Live confirmed that Roger Howarth (Todd Manning) would be exiting the show in the fall comes words that the actor is already planning to return to work on the Emmy-winning show.
In what can best be viewed as a case of semantics, a One Life to Live spokesperson claims that Howarth never really left the show. In actuality, Howarth has already left One Life to Live; he filmed his final scenes in Hawaii earlier this summer. Due to the broadcast schedule, however, Howarth will appear on-screen through September.
Howarth had about a month off before moving on to his next gig -- a guest spot on the WB's Dawson's Creek. Howarth will appear on the primetime drama series as a professor. According to setside chatter, the professor is a "closeted" homosexual. Howarth is slated for just three episodes, but there is a possibility for more.
Though the show declines to comment on the reports, a setside source tells soapcentral.com that Howarth will return to the program this fall -- possibly in time for the November Sweeps period. And, according to the same source, the stay will be long-term.
Howarth joined the cast of One Life to Live in 1993, but has made several exits and returns during that time. His most recent return to the show was in the Spring of 2000.
