Grant Aleksander staying

Rumors swirled. Fan sites popped up. Now comes the official word: Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding) has reached an agreement to remain on Guiding Light.


The actor, who has played the role off and on since the early 1980's says, "I am happy we worked everything out. I do love the show and I am looking forward to working with my friends here for an unspecified amount of time."


Aleksander is widely known to have a long and lasting friendship with co-star Michael O'Leary (Rick). Grant told Soap Opera Digest (3/21/00), "This is a great job, and you have your best friend with you, what more can you want?" While that is good news, GL also will not comment on the length of the deal.
