From humble beginnings, El Salvadorian native Lilly Melgar was known mainly among Latino audiences as being a host on shows such as, Tu Musica, Des de Hollywood, and Ritmo Internacional. Lilly's career in the States took off when she was discovered in a Taco Bell commercial. From there, she went on to star in a low-budgeted B movie, Midnight Warriors .
Melgar is best known for her role as mob daughter/wife Lily Rivera Corinthos on General Hospital, starring opposite Maurice Benard and Ricky Martin (who she was also involved with in real life for a brief time). After her stint on GH, she went on to play Claudia Cortez on another popular soap, The Bold and the Beautiful.
