Robin Mattson reprising GH's Heather Webber

Heather Webber will be making a return to Port Charles, according to Emmy-nominated actress Robin Mattson. Mattson's announcement comes a short time after General Hospital's executive producer hinted that some of the show's favorite villains would be returning.

General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini recently teased about the imminent return of several of the show's villains. While Valentini didn't reveal the names of those villains, it now appears highly likely that Heather Webber will be one of them.

"Heather is returning to GH soon," actress Robin Mattson (Heather Webber) announced on her official Facebook page.

Heather hasn't been seen on-screen since February when she was carted off to jail, but her name recently surfaced in dialogue that linked her to Luke's imprisonment at Miscavige.

In an interview earlier this month with Los Angeles ABC affiliate KABC about GH's move to a new timeslot in select markets, Valentini dropped the hint about the return of the ne'er-do-wells.

"No, but they'll be male and female villains returning -- who are fan favorites -- who people really like and will be causing some problems for some of our friends in Port Charles," Valentini said in the interview.

Mattson made her first appearance as Heather in 1980. She has held numerous other memorable daytime roles. Her longest run in daytime was as Gina on Santa Barbara. From 1994 to 2000, Mattson appeared as All My Children's Janet Green. In 2003, she had a brief spot as Sugar on The Bold and the Beautiful. Four years later, she played a madam named Cheri Love on As the World Turns. More recently, Mattson played a crooked prisoner named Lee Michaels on Days of our Lives.

A GH spokesperson had no comment on Mattson's announced return.
