Thaao Penghlis talks travel and DAYS in new memoir

Thaao Penghlis tells tales of his world travels and his time on Days of our Lives, in the new memoir, Places: The Journey of My Days, My Lives.

Thaao Penghlis (Victor Cassadine, General Hospital; ex-Tony DiMera, DAYS; ex-Andre DiMera, DAYS) is now a published authot. The Emmy-nominated actor released Places: The Journey of My Days, My Lives, on July 15, 2014. The memoir details Penghlis' travels and his spiritual journey.

"The day has arrived, my first book 'PLACES' Its been a great joy unraveling the memories that made such a difference in the way I see life," the actor said on Twitter the day his book was released.

As to what fans can expect from the book, Penghlis told Soap Opera Digest, "It's really about how I got here, who crossed my path, what were the signposts, who were my mentors, and the diversity and knowledge that I gained in my 20s that I still apply now at this stage of my life."

According to the book's official description, Penghlis "pursued a career as an actor to fund his unyielding desire for spiritual and exotic travel and became one of daytime television's most enduring characters on Days of our Lives."

For those interested in behind the scenes insight into daytime, Penghlis' experience on DAYS gets it's own chapter in the memoir. "The good thing is, I never left with a bitter taste. There is no blame game because there was more great than there wasn't in that experience," he told Soap Opera Digest of his time on DAYS.

In addition to reading Penghlis' book, fans will soon be able to see him back on screen on GH as the always intriguing and mysterious Victor Cassadine. In his previous stint on the show, Victor lured recently-back-from-the-dead Robin Scorpio Drake out of town with the knowledge that Jason Morgan might be alive. Only time will tell how Penghlis' storyline might be tied with Kimberly McCullough's when she returns to the show as Robin.
