Faison escaped jail with Helena's help and told Luke that Lucky was still alive. Faison's boat exploded and he was presumed dead. Jason decided that he must leave town for good and started saying his goodbyes. Carly made a spectacle of herself at AJ's ELQ party and he told her she had to see a psychiatrist or risk losing Michael. Hannah tried to get Jason to help her with Sonny but Sonny told her to get out. Alan and Monica decide to go along with Ned's plan and have Alan marry Gertrude. Luke decides to find out if Lucky is alive or not.

Jason said his goodbyes and left Port Charles for good. Carly was dumbfounded to discover she is pregnant with Sonny's child. Roy and Hannah revealed on the docks that they are indeed father and daughter. Monica and Alan began to play the roles of fighting married in order to divorce and have Alan marry Gertrude. Jax and Chloe spend more time together but Chloe begins to get cold feet.

Following Larkin's orders, Sonny shot Roy and watched his "body" fall into the river. Lucky raged at Luke over his lies and later rejected a heartbroken Laura. After overhearing Liz say she loved him, Lucky told Helena that he wouldn't stay around and cause Liz more pain. Carly accepted Sonny's marriage proposal. A chance meeting led Liz and Lucky to a kiss.

After falling down the stairs during an argument with AJ, Carly suffered severe injuries and she and Sonny lost the baby. Laura failed to convince Luke that he should come back home so they could assure Lucky that their family was secure and happy as always; later Laura drowned her troubles in double scotches at Jake's. Tony gave Chloe a mixed diagnosis; the radiation halted the growth of her tumor but failed to shrink it. Chloe questioned her relationship with Jax after his treatment of Edward during the ELQ takeover attempt. Edward tried to stop the Eddie Maine concert by locking Ned in a storage closet; Juan filled in for Ned while Alexis came to Ned's rescue. Bobbie and Roy got crucial evidence against Larkin but were forced to go on the run again when he discovered them on the island.

Sonny and Carly continued to grieve separately until Bobbie convinced Carly that they needed to go through this difficult time together. Bobbie and Roy discovered that Larkin was their pilot and were forced to parachute from their plane. After returning to Port Charles Roy and Sonny made plans to reveal Larkin's crimes to the FBI but Larkin kidnapped Hannah. Alexis feared that the reappearance of Eddie Maine would lead to the reappearance of Lois, Ned's ex-wife. Jax backed off from the ELQ takeover so he could free up funds to buy the company that produces the medicine Chloe needs, but discovered that Helena was the owner. After eavesdropping on a cryptic conversation between Lucky and Helena, Stefan was convinced that Lucky was brainwashed. Lucky told Elizabeth that she should date Nikolas. A rare tropical flu forced Luke and Felicia to be quarantined at Kelly's much to Mac's displeasure. Mac discussed his failing marriage and the trouble with Maxie with his old friend Kevin.

Emily was upset over the attention Juan was receiving from an overzealous fan. After Helena refused to sell Jax the medicine Chloe needs, Jax went to Europe in hopes of being able to buy the medicine abroad. Stefan, aware of Helena's plans to kill him, plotted to frame Luke for his murder. Chloe witnessed the murder in her dreams. Mac sued Felicia for divorce and custody of the girls; an upset Felicia and Luke made love. Taggert, Roy, and Sonny teamed up to rescue a kidnapped Hannah from Larkin.

Larkin attempted to kill Hannah but Sonny rescued her; later, Sonny and Roy turn Larkin over to the FBI and receive immunity. After a confrontation with AJ, Carly wants Sonny to kill AJ; when Sonny refuses Carly begins to make her own plans. Chloe tells Ned, and then Mac, about her dream of Stefan's murder. Mac, convinced Stefan is dead, arrests Luke for the crime; Luke refuses to tell Mac that Felicia is his alibi for the crime. Roy later helps Luke break out of jail and prepare to flee the country, but not before one last visit with Felicia. Lucky finds that he cannot control his feelings for Liz and attempts to tell Helena so. A very much alive Stefan relaxes at a spa far away from Port Charles.

Laura confronts Felicia and blames her for Luke's current trouble; Felicia feels Laura is responsible. At the Nurses' Ball, Robin is shocked to learn that Sonny and Carly are a couple. Carly pulls a gun on AJ but Sonny reminds her that this will only hurt Michael; later, Sonny takes Carly away to the island so she can relax. AJ is exhilarated by his brush with death and continues to pursue Hannah. Bobbie warns Helena to stay away from Lucky. Elizabeth is surprised to discover that Lucky has been secretly visiting her art studio. Alexis, Laura, and Nikolas all grieve for Stefan as he enjoys life in Paris.

Tony, concerned about Lucas, expresses his concerns about Bobbie's relationship with Roy. Laura, upset and alone at Jake's, makes a pass at Mac; he tenderly declines. As AJ continues to try to get closer to Hannah, Taggert warns him to stay away from her. Roy is shocked to learn that Luke was the one who raped Laura. At the rave, Emily and Juan get into a fight and Emily leaves the party with another guy.

Alan is initially shocked when he learns that Monica thinks she may be pregnant, but slowly becomes as excited by the prospect of another child as she is. AJ tries to lose his inheritance while online trading. Roy declines Bobbie's offer that he move into the Brownstone, but they make plans to visit Hawaii. Jax prepares to bed Helena in order to get the medicine Chloe needs; Chloe has disturbing dreams about Jax. Stefan begins to investigate a possible link between Chloe and Helena. Emily is terrified when she wakes up in a hotel room next to a dead man named Ted and is holding a syringe in her hand. Lucky and Nikolas hide Ted's body at Wyndemere; Emily is relieved to learn she was not raped, but receives a disturbing call from another girl. Juan tries to apologize to Emily for his recent behavior but she refuses to talk to him.

Juan misinterpreted a close moment between Emily and Lucky resulting in a fistfight between the two; later, Emily walked in on Juan and Shelly making out. Ned agreed to go on tour as Eddie Maine while Alexis expressed doubts about the future of their relationship once he became a rock star again. Jax tricked Helena and took the medication Chloe needed; Helena through a party on her yacht for a select group of General Hospital's staff which Chloe insisted on attending. Nikolas and Lucky panic when they are temporarily unable to locate the freezer containing Ted's body; their problems worsen when they discover that Ted was an undercover cop. Bobbie tells Carly that she doesn't want her daughter staying at the Brownstone; Carly decides to return to Sonny but finds him consoling Liz yet again. A distraught Alexis openly accuses Helena of killing Stefan. Stefan investigates Chloe's medical records in an effort to figure out her connection to Helena; meanwhile Helena also obtains a copy of her medical records. Carly gets into several arguments with various Port Charles citizens; Liz, Lucky, Bobbie, and Sonny all exchange angry words with Carly, later Roy comforts her. Lucky is jealous of the closeness shared between Sonny and Liz and shocked to learn of her past relationship with Jason. Monica is angered when Alan consults a fertility doctor without her permission but is pacified by the dreamy Dr. Townsend. Ned receives two offers one for L&B and one for Juan's contract; he turns down both.

Hannah and Taggert made love but faced the disapproving eyes of Mac and Dara while Juan gloated over his guardian's activities. A disguised Liz found out more about Gia; meanwhile Emily decided to tell Juan about the night of the rave. Sonny rented out Jason's penthouse to Alexis in his attempts to manipulate Carly back into his penthouse; in retaliation Carly began to flirt with Roy. Alexis and Ned argued about her new living arrangements but later reconciled.

Carly, unaware that Sonny would be at the meeting with Sorel, tipped off the police to the activity and recorded the entire conversation! Chloe found out that Jax had spotted someone he thought was Brenda and, after understanding the true depth of his feelings for his earlier love, was upset about his actions. Helena prepared to kill Chloe. In another effort to woo Hannah, AJ sent her tons of flowers, to Taggert's apartment; later, AJ attempted to move into the Brownstone so he could be closer to Hannah. Lucky realized something was seriously wrong with his mind; Juan and Elizabeth both became jealous of Lucky and Emily's friendship. At another rave Elizabeth met up with Zander.

Lucky told a drugged Elizabeth how much he really loved her knowing she would remember nothing in the morning. Sonny was arrested on charges of drug trafficking. Edward and AJ both saw Sonny's arrest as an opportunity to get custody of Michael. Alexis told Sonny he needed to marry Carly in order to prevent her from testifying. Jason came home to Port Charles.

Jax left Chloe in order to pursue Brenda; Chloe was then kidnapped from her room and later awoke and was shocked to see Stefan alive. Carly told Jason all that had happened since he left Port Charles and became convinced that Jason would be able to solve all of her problems; when Alexis told Sonny that Jason should take Carly out of the country so she couldn't testify against him Sonny informed a stunned Carly that they were getting married. At Ned's concert the press asked Alexis more questions about being Eddie's Angel. Zander met with Sorel. Roy went in search of Luke.

Carly informed a stunned AJ that Jason was back in town; AJ responded by lashing out at everyone. After failing to convince Jason to leave the country with her and Michael, Carly agreed to marry Sonny. Stefan convinced Chloe that they had both been kidnapped by Helena and then attempted to earn her friendship and trust. Lucky and Nikolas succeeded in planting the dead body of Ted the cop in Zander's car; Emily arrived at the rave and was confronted by Zander. Luke decided it was time to return to Port Charles but he and Roy argued over the best way to do so and their pasts. Ned and Alexis were caught on tape again.

Emily and Alexis persuade Zander to testify against Sorel. Hannah tells AJ she cannot get involved with him on any level, as she and Taggert grow closer. Lucky moves in above the diner and next door to Elizabeth, and it grows increasingly harder for them to resist each other. Tensions between Sonny and Taggert renew and are also felt by new partners, Laura and Carly. Sorel threatens Carly. Bobbie's memory problems worsen and she forgets to have the brakes on her car fixed and she and Roy are involved in an accident. Luke and Felicia find themselves masquerading together once again to try to get the ice princess back from Helena, who tries to declare Nikolas incompetent so she can take over his estate.
