At a Glance

Four-time Daytime Emmy winner Hogan Sheffer joined Days of our Lives as head writer in July 2006. He joins the show after a successful run as head writer for the CBS soap, As the World Turns. Sheffer took over the helm as head writer of As the World Turns in June 2000 and less than a year later, propelled the show to its first Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team in 14 years.

Prior to joining As the World Turns, Sheffer worked from Dreamworks SKG, where, for three years, he was Director of Screenplay Development for producer Mark Johnson. Among the feature films in which he was involved in developing: My Dog Skip, Galaxy Quest, Home Fries and What Lies Beneath. Prior to Dreamworks, he was a freelance script analyst for several production companies from 1986 to 1994.

Sheffer, who hails from York, Pennsylvania, is the brother of actor Craig Sheffer, who appeared on the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live in 1980, but is best known for his role in A River Runs Through It.

Sheffer divides his time between his apartment in New York City and his family's home in Pennsylvania.
