Is DAYS looking to amp up the diversity of its cast?

NBC Universal has partnered with the American Black Film Festival to find the next fresh face for daytime.

The Young and the Restless' Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) has been vocal with her opinion that daytime doesn't employ enough talent of color, but it looks like NBC Universal is making moves to change that.

The network that brings you Days of our Lives has partnered with the American Black Film Festival in an effort to find new talent for daytime. Actors who are interested in competing can visit the organization's official website for more information.

If NBC Universal plans to add black talent to DAYS, it's not the only change happening at the soap, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The series recently fired head writers Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell and replaced them with Dena Higley and Josh Griffith, as well as replaced co-executive producer Lisa de Cazotte with director/producer Albert Alarr. The soap also recently put out a casting call for an Australian actor to play the part of Finn, a doctor who'll be completing his residency in Salem under the direction of Daniel (Shawn Christian).

What do you think about DAYS possibly casting more black actors? Who would you like to see the possible new characters interacting with in Salem?
