Brief Character History
In 1990, Ridge's first wife Caroline began counseling with Taylor after discovering she was dying of leukemia. Caroline asked both Taylor and Brooke to look in on Ridge after she died.
At one point, Taylor dated Ridge and Storm (Brooke's brother) at the same time. Taylor later took up with her ex-husband, Blake Hayes who still suffered from a medical condition that caused violent outbursts. His feelings toward Taylor were obsessive, renting an apartment across the street from Taylor, spying on her with binoculars. He was jealous of Ridge's presence in her life. Blake made several efforts to come between Ridge and Taylor - showing Stephanie's videotape of Brooke and Ridge making love in the Forrester Lab after developing "BeLieF"; discovering Caroline's twin sister, Karen, and trying to recreate Caroline to try and stir feelings in Ridge. Eventually, Blake and Taylor parted ways and he returned to Texas.
While vacationing in St Thomas, Ridge followed Taylor there and proposed. Discovering she was pregnant, Brooke failed to stop the wedding. Unknown to everyone, Sheila Carter interfered with blood samples of a paternity test that revealed Ridge to be the father of Bridget. Years later, a second test proved that Eric was in fact Bridget's father.
Taylor's mentor, James Warwick became her patient in 1992. Taylor's respect and admiration for James was misinterpreted by Ridge who suspected the two of having an affair. James and Taylor were at Big Bear together when an earthquake occurred. The wintry cold threatened to end the lives of the two psychiatrists who struggled to wait for help. James confessed to Taylor that he didn't want to die a virgin. Out of compassion and fondness, Taylor obliged.
In 1994, Taylor was presumed dead after her plane crashed while attending a medical conference in the Middle East. Ridge turned to Brooke during his loss. As the two grew to love each other once more, Prince Omar was in Morocco treating his "Princess Laila" to health, a woman he found beaten at the airport and now suffering amnesia - it was Taylor! Ridge and Brooke had a grand beach wedding, with the bride arriving on horseback. Prince Omar kept Taylor's true identity from her and planned to marry her. Seeing how happy Ridge now was and in order to spare him more pain, Taylor decided to stay with Omar as his Princess. Taylor was forced to return to LA after her father, Jack, suffered a heart attack. Soon everyone learned that Taylor was alive.
For years, Ridge remained undecided with Brooke and Taylor, marrying one and divorcing the other. Eric once made a pass at Taylor, who gently turned him down because of her friendship with Stephanie, Grant Chambers' advances were also turned away. In 1998, Taylor's pregnancy was threatened and went along with Thorne's plan to pretend the baby was his after the stress involving Ridge and Brooke caused her to have stomach pains. When Ridge learned the truth, he committed himself to Taylor and his family. In 1999, Taylor's work colleague, Pierce Peterson began developing feelings for her. Conspiring with Brooke, Ridge and Taylor remained strong after she became pregnant again with the twins. Exposure to a deceased patient, proved Taylor to have Tuberculosis. She made the life-threatening decision not to treat her condition with the antibiotics that compromised the health of her unborn babies. Very weak and close to death, Taylor gave birth to Steffy and Phoebe.
Brooke hired Morgan to design at Forrester Creations. Stephanie had forced Morgan to have an abortion after she became pregnant with Ridge when they were teenagers. Tricking Ridge into sleeping with her and becoming best friends with Taylor, Morgan became pregnant with Ridge's baby again. A confrontation between Taylor and Morgan led to a struggle causing Morgan to fall off Ridge and Taylor's balcony. Morgan's baby died. In an act of revenge, Morgan kidnapped Steffy, whom Ridge and Taylor believed to have been victim of a shark attack after losing her out at sea during a storm. When Taylor discovered Steffy was alive, Morgan held Taylor prisoner in a secret room of her house. When Ridge pieced together the truth, he drove his car through Morgan's living room and reunited with his family.
After years of fighting for her family and building her life with Ridge, Taylor returned to work with Dr Nunez. Her first patient turned out to be Antonio Dominguez, Kristen's new boyfriend. Taylor's career in jeopardy when she threatened to tell Kristen he was HIV positive. Thorne and Brooke's marriage crumbled with Brooke developing a renewed interest in Ridge. Brooke tried to her hardest to seduce Ridge again, but he refused to betray his wife. Later when Brooke was having a personal crisis, Ridge took advantage of the situation to try and take control of Forrester Creations. Rick and Deacon stopped him and Ridge was then forced out of the company completely. He then began working for Massimo Marone and hated most of his family, especially his little brother, Rick and his wife, Amber. This became a problem when Taylor began helping Amber. First she helped her get into a drug rehab center when she was addicted to pain killers. She then helped her again when she needed a place to stay while her and Rick separated. After all the horrible things that have happened to Amber lately, Taylor is the only one who believed that Amber was innocent. Taylor's faith and hospitality towards Amber caused problems in her marriage to Ridge.
While Amber was staying in Ridge and Taylor's home she was kidnapped by the person who was causing all the problems in her life, Sheila Carter. Sheila attempted to kill Amber but was stopped by Massimo and Stephanie. Sheila did get away though and drove to Eric's house and held him at gun point. Taylor realized that Eric could be in danger after finding out Sheila was on the loose. So she went over to his house and was held at gun point too. While Taylor was trying to convince Sheila to drop the gun, Brooke walked in and a struggle between everyone erupted. In the end, Brooke and Taylor were shot. Taylor and Brooke were rushed to the hospital and Taylor was immediately rushed into emergency surgery. Taylor survived the surgery and remained in critical condition. She regained consciousness long enough to say goodbye to her family. She died peacefully in her husbands arms...
...or so they thought. In early 2005, as Bridget and Nick were about to say their 'I do's, guests heard the sound of a woman screaming. When Ridge went to check it out, he came face to face with Taylor, only to have two men strong-arm her away. She was finally able to reveal herself to Ridge, who was overjoyed at having her back in his life. Taylor explained to him that they had only thought she was dead, but Omar had spirited her away to his home, even planting a false bust of her in the casket to fool them all, and she slowly recovered under his care. Taylor was shocked to learn, though, that Ridge had not only married but fathered a child with Brooke during her time away. Things were soon complicated when an old friend, Dante, returned to town, but Taylor soothed Ridge's jealousy by explaining that Dante had been instrumental in her getting away from Omar.
Ridge and Taylor seemed to be getting back together, even though he vascillated between her and Brooke until Stephanie had a heart attack, prompting he and Taylor to renew their vows. Once it was revealed that Stephanie faked her heart attack, Taylor couldn't stop wondering if Ridge was with her for the right reasons. While Ridge was on an extended trip out of town, Taylor shared a kiss with Hector. Although she pushed Hector away, she couldn't help but feel guilty and confessed her transgression to Ridge when he came home. Not only did she confess her kiss with Hector, she also told him the truth about having slept with James all those years ago. Although Ridge was willing to forgive her infidelity, he stated that he could not forgive the hypocritical attitude he felt she had held Brooke up to throughout the years, and a devastated Taylor had annulment papers drawn up.
