Brief Character History
Christian was born and raised in Los Angeles, the younger brother of Hector. Dr. Ramirez first showed up on screen as the doctor Stephanie hired to save her dying daughter, Felicia. He came onto the case after her family thought she had died. But Stephanie had spirited her away to a clinic where she lay comatose and on life support.
After his initial examination, he informed Stephanie that with radiation, chemo and a liver transplant, Felicia had a slender chance of recovering. In subsequent days, he treated his patient, constantly calling Stephanie to inform her of changes in Felicia's condition. She steadily lost ground in her fight to survive. Stephanie had created a video tape of Felicia's life. She gave it to Dr. Ramirez and pleaded that he watch it. She thought if he could see the high spirited woman who wasn't afraid of a battle, he would not give up on her.
After watching the video, Christian developed a bit of a crush on Felicia and her strong will to live, but unfortunately she continued to decline.
She reached a point that Christian removed her from life support to see if she could possible survive and at the same time placed her name on a donor list for a liver. It was only after Stephanie brought her young son to her bedside, that her vital signs rallied and she began to show improvement.
Stephanie volunteered a lobe of her liver, but Christian managed to find a donor at the last moment.
Meanwhile at Hector's, his brother, Dr. Christian Ramirez called Stephanie with encouraging news about Felicia. He informed her that Felicia was progressing well and her body hadn't rejected the liver, but warned her it's still too early to tell. Hector jokingly reprimanded Christian for not staying in touch better or even letting him know he was in town until then. Hector thought Christian needed a little break from the hospital so he took him out to meet Bridget. He told his brother Bridget was a doctor too, and he could tell her all about his patient.
At Dante's, Christian met Bridget and they discovered they both studied medicine in Europe. Bridget brought Dino outside, and Christian was shocked to recognize the baby and discovered that everyone in Felicia's family believed she died.
Felicia regained consciousness, and after a long recuperation, went home to the guesthouse accompanied by Christian. Felicia began to become very flirtatious with the handsome young doctor. She asked him to finish clipping her hair, and after that he told her how beautiful she is and kissed her. As Felicia gained strength we saw less and less of Dr. Christian Ramirez. He appeared briefly as a threat to Dante when he went to Felicia and confessed he had feelings for her and they embraced. Dante walked in and warned him off.
Christian took a job working at the local hospital, and later was the doctor who examined Bridget for her immunizations before her trip to Africa. This trip never materialized because Dr. Ramirez informed Bridgett she was pregnant.
