    
Ridge tells Brooke that he and Taylor aren't married. Enrique and Thorne come up with a "plan" to save Claudia from deportation. Claudia misunderstands and tells her family that Thorne has asked her to marry him! Jonathan, the family attorney, encourages Stephanie to speak up for Claudia at the hearing. James is surprised as Maggie shows up at the office. she wants to start their own baby, and she wants to do it NOW. She removes her coat to reveal only sexy undergarments.

Stephanie throws a big party for Ridge and Taylor to celebrate their engagement. Taylor announces that she has chosen Stephanie as her Matron of Honor. Brooke and Grant arrive at the marina and board their "marriage boat." Brooke wants to delay leaving the harbor, but the captain warns that the fog will be closing in soon. Ridge decides he must stop Brooke's wedding. He and Thorne race for the marina but the ship is already pulling out. As Ridge screams her name, Brooke turns and walks back into the cabin.

Everyone is anxiously awaiting the removal of the bandages to see if there will be permanent scarring. She is lucky; there is only discoloration and blistering. Curtis, the plumber from Iowa, arrives at Maggie's house to fix the garbage disposal; Sheila watches with interest. Could this be the answer she has been searching for?

Taylor comes home from the hospital. Ridge notices she is developing feelings for Thorne. He asks for just a chance to win her back again. Sheila pays Curtis to get Maggie to fall in love with him. Stephanie has a gun and many people know it. Grant is shot.

Grant is found in his office by Ridge shot in the chest. When the police arrive, Grant accuses Ridge of the dirty deed. Grant is rushed into surgery; another couple of inches and the bullet would have done it's job. Brooke rushes home from Paris to be by her husband's side; she apologizes for her past behavior toward him and promises it will be different. Ridge is released on a one million dollar bond with a restraining order to stay away from Grant. Everyone at Forrester is fingerprinted, but Lt. Baker believes they have their man. Grant is terrified when Ridge shows up in his hospital room.

Ignoring the restraining order against him, Ridge goes to the hospital to question Grant. He blocks the doorway and appears to be choking a terrified Grant when the police arrive. Ridge is arrested once again and thrown in jail. Sheila signs up for childbirth classes and wants James to attend with her. He is excited but wants Maggie along also. Sheila reluctantly agrees but when Maggie hears of the plans, she throws a jealous fit. Curtis arrives to save the day when another pipe "springs a leak." Felicia returns to L.A. Jonathan hires a private investigator to help Ridge while "hiding" Ridge from the press in a seedy hotel room. Grant leaves the hospital then returns to work. The staff welcomes him with a big party. Afterward, Grant and Brooke make love in the office.

Taylor goes to Big Bear with Thorne. Ridge visits her room late at night and they have a long talk. Taylor warns him about his impulsive behavior. Hunter Jones begins his investigation into the shooting of Grant Chambers. Thorne and Taylor take a trip to Big Bear for skiing. Taylor is awakened in the night by Ridge. They talk and Ridge ends up falling asleep on her bed. Later, back at Forrester while being questioned by Jones, Taylor admits to Ridge being at Big Bear. Grant throws a big Costume Ball to show off the fall collection. Ridge sneaks in so that he can talk with Taylor, but security guards are on the look-out for him. Eric proposes marriage to Stephanie.

Grant throws an elaborate costume ball to kick off the preview of the Fall Collection. Hunter, the PI investigating for Ridge is there dressed as Father Time. Grant has the room full of private security with orders to call the police if Ridge shows up. Ridge has to see Taylor, so he crashes the party as Zorro. Taylor is shocked; doesn't he know he is in danger of going to jail again? When Ridge is almost captured, he swings by the chandelier through the picture window and gets away. Maggie and James try to talk about their problems. Maggie says they are entirely different; James wouldn't be happy in her world and she isn't sure she can be happy in his. After having Grant go to the police station and look over the evidence one more time, Jones gathers the "clan" and all involved in the shooting at the Forrester home where he tells them that the shooter is . . .

Hunter Jones takes his time about laying out his theory, but eventually he informs everyone that Grant shot himself to get Ridge out of his way! Ridge tries to convince Brooke to leave with the children: Grant is dangerous, he tells her. Brooke doesn't believe that Grant shot himself, even though she doesn't believe that Ridge did it either. Maggie and Curtis dine at the Café Russe; Maggie is impressed that Curtis can be sophisticated. Curtis orders in fluent French. Knowing that Maggie and Curtis will dine at Café Russe, Sheila manipulates James into taking her there. James sees Maggie and Curtis enjoying themselves. Sheila tells James that she owes him and his father so much for changing her life and she prays every night that they can be a family together.

The trial begins. Taylor attends even though it is hard for her seeing Ridge standing trial for attempted murder. Brooke is worried about Rick; he isn't doing well in school. Michael testifies against Ridge; her testimony is harmful to the case. She testifies that when she handed the gun to Ridge in his office, he pointed it toward Grant's office and uttered the words "tempting, very tempting." Lauren agrees to stand up for Stephanie at the wedding. There is another confrontation between Grant and Rick when Rick overhears his mother, Grant and Connor discussing the adoption. Thorne is called to the courthouse; he is to testify for the prosecution. He happens into the room where Ridge and Taylor are embracing and kissing. He is shook up at the sight.

The trial continues. Thorne has to testify but he maintains control during the experience. At the end, he testifies that his brother could never kill anyone. Maggie and Sheila have another confrontation. Maggie orders Sheila out of the house. When Sheila refuses to leave, Maggie attempts to physically throw her out. But in the scuffle, Sheila falls over a coffee table. She is rushed to the hospital with pain and bleeding James discovers what has happened and rushes to the hospital. Thorne is disturbed when he sees Ridge and Taylor kissing. Brooke wants Grant to go to the DA and say he wasn't sure who shot him. Grant appears to be giving it considerable attention when Eric shows up and the two men "butt heads," the upshot being that Grant says he will see Ridge in jail.

The trial continues. Clark testifies as a hostile witness but he does more harm than good. Brooke takes the stand and Jonathan humiliates her. Under protest, Jonathan calls Hunter to the stand where he testifies on cross examination that he knows that Grant did not shoot himself. He only needs a few days to prove who did shoot Grant. With this, the judge orders a recess. Sheila is still spotting. The doctor says she will need bed rest and freedom from stress for the next two months. Maggie wishes she had done things differently but refuses to take the blame for what happened. James is beginning to see just how much Sheila is sacrificing.

Sheila remains in the hospital. The doctors feel she must remain calm and in bed for the next two months. Lauren visits her and doesn't believe that she is only concerned with her baby. As she is escorted out by a nurse, Lauren warns them not to let Sheila anywhere near the nursery as she has a habit of stealing babies. Brooke's mother visits. Claudia visits Taylor and asks her if she is just leading Thorne on; she spills the beans about Thorne buying Taylor an engagement ring. The trial is drawing to a close. Grant begs Ridge to stop Hunter Jones but Ridge definitely will not. Grant finally breaks down and tells Ridge that it was Rick who shot him. Ridge doesn't believe Grant, but the next morning, Hunter shows up at Ridge's hotel and tells him the same story. Ridge visits Rick who is holed up in his room---the walls depicting bloody horror---with the music blasting away, playing computer games. As he realizes someone is in the room, he turns and glares at Ridge with cold hard eyes.

Ridge finds Rick in his room playing violent video games and listening to violent music. Rick says he is afraid that Ridge will go to jail and believes Grant framed Ridge by shooting himself. Rick tells Ridge he would "kill" to have him go free. Ridge says he didn't used to be this angry or hostile but Rick shrugs his mood off by saying it is nothing. Ridge questions Rick if he has any idea who shot Grant. "How would I know?" Rick asks. Ridge finally arrives at the court house and takes the stand. He confesses to shooting Grant. He is handcuffed and taken to a jail cell. Sheila goes into labor and wants James at her side. James arrives and supports her through the labor. There is no way to stop the labor as Sheila is fully dilated. There is a lot of bleeding; the doctor wants to do a CS because the placenta is separating, but Sheila insists she can do it. The baby's heart rate drops dangerously but eventually Sheila delivers a baby girl. Taylor visits Ridge at the jail, but he continues to insist that he shot Grant. He wants her to go on with her life and find someone else who can take care of her needs.

Maggie bonds with the new baby until Sheila arrives to breast feed. Taylor visits Ridge in jail and tries to get him to open up to her but he continues to say that he deliberately shot Grant. He tells Taylor she has to forget him and get on with her life. Thorne moves in with a depressed Taylor "just to be near in case she needs him." He present her with a gift: a golden Retriever. Grant visits James and tells him that it was Rick who shot him. James tells him that he will treat Rick but the boy is in serious trouble. He advises that Brooke be told. Grant doesn't want to tell Brooke but when James insists that it is important for Rick's sake, he rushes off to the cabin. At the cabin, Brooke is preparing to give Grant the night of his dreams. However, that dream turns into a nightmare when Grant confesses the truth about who shot him. Brooke is angry with Grant and orders him to leave. The next day she visits Ridge and tells him she still loves him, but he sends her back to Grant. Brooke arrives at Grant's office and finds him packing to leave. She tells him that she wants her marriage. She wants a stable home for Rick.

A maid finds Eric's cuff link in Lauren's bed and brings it to Stephanie. Lauren admits that, before she realized that Stephanie was still in love with Eric, she and Eric were falling in love. Maggie is eager to get the adoption finalized while James struggles with his feelings for Sheila. They are informed that Sheila doesn't have to turn the baby over to them; and if she does, she still can change her mind at any time until the adoption becomes final. Taylor and Ridge have several emotional confrontations in the prison. Taylor wants to wait for Ridge, but he insists that she get on with her life. Thorne and Stephanie clash over his standing by Taylor. James begins his evaluation of Rick.

Sheila finally realizes that James really wants her to sign the adoption papers. With her heart breaking, she signs the papers and leaves the hospital. Brooke realizes what Taylor is going through with Ridge in jail, but she is afraid to tell her the whole story. Not only has Stephanie thrown Lauren out of the guesthouse, she has her banned from Forrester. With Sally's help, Lauren moves into a fabulous penthouse apartment. Taylor is unable to cope so she turns to the bottle once again. James tries to offer counseling and support. After letting Ridge believe that he is moving out of Taylor's house, Thorne makes plans to take her to Hawaii. Clark discovers that Sally is transferring Spectra stock to her children. He demands a part of Spectra, but Sally says no.

James and Maggie share a romantic night. Thorne and Taylor arrive in Hawaii, but Taylor cannot escape the memory of Ridge. She is given a hula lesson by a group of young Hawaiian girls. Ridge decides to tell Taylor the whole story and is stunned when Jonathan tells him that Taylor is in Hawaii with Thorne. Visiting Lauren in her new penthouse, James kisses her passionately but admits he is still committed to Stephanie.

Ridge is shocked to learn that after promising to stay away from Taylor, Thorne has taken Taylor to Hawaii. Margaret comes home from the hospital, but Maggie continues to worry that Sheila will change her mind about the adoption. After talking to Grant about Taylor, Ridge decides the wants to tell her the truth and ask her to wait for him. He writes her a letter pouring out his heart to her. In court, Grant testifies on Ridge's behalf. The judge decides to think on all that Grant has said and get back with her decision later that day. Stephanie and Eric find the hotel where Thorne and Taylor are staying. They fax the letter Ridge has written. When the letter arrives, Thorne keeps it from Taylor.

Back in court, the judge reduces the charges against Ridge and puts him on probation for 3 years. He is free! Maggie is determined to find Sheila. She hires Connor to find her. Finding her in Death Valley, she drives there to see for herself that it is Sheila and that she has moved on with her life. After seeing Sheila, Maggie tries to leave, but Sheila sees and confronts her. When Thorne and Taylor arrive at the Forrester home, a party is going on. They are shocked to find Ridge there. Ridge explains all that happened---how it was Rick who shot Grant---and how he had hoped to spare her by turning her away. But he loves her and wants her back. Thorne and Ridge fight over Taylor.

While talking to the bartender, Clarke realizes that the Captain is a fraud. Clarke uses his newfound knowledge to find a way into Forrester---he goes to Thorne with the information. Mike takes pictures of the baby for Sheila. Amber breaks into Sheila's room and find it a shrine to James and "Mary." Thorne confronts Brooke and tells her that she and Grant are not married.

Sheila discovers that James and Maggie plan to hire a babysitter for Margaret; Sheila is upset about this plus the fact that Mary is now Margaret. Grant breaks into Clarke's office and punches him for going to Thorne with the news of his "non-marriage."

Lauren "kidnaps" Eric and takes him to Big Bear. Stephanie discovers Lauren's plot and rushes to BB for a confrontation---and a mud-fight. Amber wants to apply for the babysitting position and Sheila reluctantly coaches her. Brooke tells Grant that there will not be a marriage. Fearing for Brooke's safety, Ridge stands up Taylor and rushes to the rescue.

Grant erupts when Brooke tells him there will be no marriage. Feeling Brooke is in danger, Ridge rushes to her house and throws Grant out. Brooke tells Ridge that she still loves him. After having abdominal pain on several occasions, Taylor visits the doctor. She learns that she is pregnant. Looking for Ridge, Taylor arrives at Brooke's home and Brooke begins to harass her; she tells Taylor that she is going after Ridge. She tells Taylor that Ridge still loves her and everything he has done proves it. After Brooke leaves, Taylor once again experiences pain and collapses to the floor. Thorne rescues Taylor and takes her to Big Bear for some much needed rest. Clarke leaves Spectra! Amber is hired as Mary/Margaret's nanny.

Forrester has lost their new collection. They turn the company upside down in search of the collection. Grant shows up at Spectra with a gift: Forrester's collection. Sheila moves back to L.A. with Amber. Amber begins her duties while Maggie and James go out to dinner. Unable to quiet the child, Amber frantically calls Sheila. Sheila arrives and breast feeds the infant. The doctor pays a call on Taylor at Big Bear and warns that if she doesn't get her stress under control, she will lose the baby. Taylor is frantic to get back to LA so she can tell Ridge about the baby; but a sudden storm closes the roads and she is stuck at Big Bear. Meanwhile, Brooke pulls out all the stops and seduces Ridge. Sally and Darla view the X-rated video Lauren made of her night with Eric.

Brooke pulls out all the stops in her attempt to snare Ridge. She asks him to sleep with her but Ridge turns her down. Meanwhile, Taylor and Thorne are stuck in the cabin at Big Bear due to the heavy rains. The plans for the wedding get underway. Lauren is invited to the wedding and at the last minute she decides to attend. She thinks it will make letting-go of Eric easier if she actually sees him taking his vows.

Taylor stumbles out of the house after seeing Ridge and Brooke in bed together. But Ridge stops himself before anything happens. Taylor ends up in the hospital again with pain. She is told in no uncertain terms that if she continues to live with the stress she is under, she will lose the baby. The wedding begins--sans Ridge and Taylor---and with Thorne stepping in as Eric's best man. During the ceremony, as the minister turns the page in the Bible, he is startled to find a picture of Eric and Lauren in bed. The ceremony is put on hold while the minister talks to Eric and Stephanie. When Stephanie sees the photo, she calls off the wedding. Amber returns home with the baby without Maggie. Sheila shows up and commences to breast feed the baby. Taylor calls Ridge to her house and tells him that she is pregnant---but the baby is Thorne's!

Ridge went to Big Bear and burned all his memories of Taylor. Amber went to James and told him that she is Sheila's friend. Instead of firing her, James asked her to stay on and keep him informed of all the Sheila was doing. Macy learned that Taylor is carrying Thorne's baby and they are planning to marry. Macy went out with Grant and "suffered" a highly erotic daydream. Stephanie learned that Taylor is carrying Thorne's baby and went to the beach house to confront her. Sheila arrived at the Warrick residence and demanded her baby back.

She tells Eric but it makes no difference; he doesn't want anything more to do with her. She then warns him that "his" designs are being shown at Spectra. Spectra has a lavish and successful showing of their spring 98 fashions. Grant is hailed as the new star of LA fashion. Eric climbs upon the stage trying to get to Grant but the guards drag him away. Maggie and James are told by the Judge that they have to give the baby back to Sheila. Sheila, he lawyer and a sheriff deputy arrive to pick up the baby.

Eric tries to get Lauren to help him get his relationship with Stephanie back but Ms. Fenmore refuses. Even though James tells Sheila that she is making a huge mistake, Sheila takes her baby home anyway. James and Maggie, with the encouragement of their attorney, come up with a plan to prove Sheila unfit and regain the custody of Mary/Margaret. James promises Amber a red convertible when Margaret returns to his home. Thorne and Brooke arrange a "double date" so that Taylor will see Brooke and Ridge together. Thorne feels it will once and for all get Ridge out of Taylor's system. However, Taylor decides she can no longer lie to Ridge about the baby's paternity.

Thorne warns Taylor not to jeopardize her pregnancy by telling Ridge the truth, but Taylor tries to tell Ridge anyway. Instead of listening to Taylor, Ridge blasts Taylor with harsh word that he later regrets uttering. Brooke tries once again to seduce Ridge but Stephanie "catches" her and tries to humiliate her. Stephanie goes to Café Russe with Eric. Sally is there and calls Lauren. Lauren, dressed to the nines, arrives and sings a seductive song. Eric appears enraptured and thanks Lauren for the song as it showed him his real feelings---then he kisses Stephanie. The Forresters announce plans for their spring showing in Italy.

Ridge visits Taylor in answer to her urgent phone call. However, Thorne has drugged her and, despite a "dream" in which she tells Ridge about the baby, she sleeps through his visit. Plans are made for a Spring showing by Forrester in Milan, Italy. James and Maggie have their marriage annulled and James moves in with Sheila. Suspicious, Sheila suggests they get married---tonight. Brooke prepares the ultimate seduction scene in the office. The lovemaking is interrupted before it is consummated---by Thorne and Megan. Unable to understand why Ridge hasn't answered either of her latest messages (they were stolen by Thorne), Taylor disobeys her doctor's orders and goes to Ridge's home.

On a night out, Macy sings for Grant. Amber hopes she can do the same for someone someday. The entire Forrester bunch fly first class to Milan, Italy while Sally and Lauren fly coach on a slow plane for the same destination. The Spring Show begins and it appears to be a bomb when suddenly, the crowd begins to respond. It is a success!! Eric makes plans to marry Stephanie in Como. On her way to the wedding, Sally stops Stephanie. Stephanie pushes Sally into the lake and steals a nearby boat. In the middle of the lake, the boat suddenly develops engine trouble leaving Eric wondering why Stephanie is so late. Ridge buys an engagement ring and makes plans to meet Brooke in the upper garden. Before arriving for the date, Brooke learns that Ridge is the father of Taylor's baby.

On the way to her wedding, Stephanie's boat encounters engine trouble. Thinking that Stephanie doesn't want to marry him, a depressed Eric used the plane he charted for the honeymoon to return to Los Angeles. Leaving herself, Lauren boards the plane to congratulate the couple. Learning that there was no marriage, she hitches a ride back home with Eric. Even though she has learned that Taylor is carrying Ridge's baby, Brooke accepts his marriage proposal. She tells Thorne that Ridge must never learn that he is the father of that baby and he must never know that she knows. James and Sheila go to Café Russe to celebrate after James and Connor install a hidden camera in the nursery. James works on getting Sheila drunk. Returning home tipsy, he watches as she staggers to the crib and carries the baby to the rocking chair. Eric's plane flies through a storm. There is an explosion and the plane crashes. Only Lauren and Eric survive -- but for how long in this frozen tundra?

Eric and Lauren attempt to survive in the frozen tundra of Greenland during a severe blizzard. Grant and Macy have a romantic dinner date. Expecting a proposal of marriage, Macy is shocked to learn that all Grant is interested in is making love. For his efforts, all Grant gets is a glass of ice water dumped into his lap.

Ridge and Brooke decide to postpone their wedding until after Eric is found. Eric and Lauren remain confused by their rescuer/captor. Sheila questions James love for her and promises him that if he still wants to be married to Maggie, she will understand and allow them visitation rights to Mary. James, Maggie, Connor and Amber set up an elaborate sting to prove Sheila is an unfit mother.

Taylor learns that Brooke and Ridge have postponed their wedding. Eric continues to be suspicious of Rush, while Lauren grows closer to the man. James, Maggie, Connor and Amber complete their scheme to prove Sheila an unfit mother, but they are foiled when Sheila leaves Margaret with Mike. The wedding goes through but Mike tells Sheila of the plan to trap her. She waits for James on the roof of the hotel; when he joins her, she tells him good-bye and jumps.

Rush continues to draw closer to Lauren. Eric persuades Lauren to talk Rush into shaving since he seems familiar to Eric. After shaving, Eric recognizes Rush and says they are all dead. Outside, Eric and Rush have a confrontation which ends up with Eric being knocked out and tied up by Rush. Brooke's children hear about the plane crash from some schoolmates. They go to Taylor for the truth. Taylor calls Ridge; he arrives and explains the facts to the children, promising that as soon as their father is found, he and Brooke will be married. Taylor thinks it is time to get on with her life. Grant presents Macy with a ring and a marriage proposal. James and Maggie quarrel about Sheila. She feels that Sheila has proved her unfitness by jumping from the building, but James can't understand her heartlessness. James gives Sheila CPR after she arrests past surgery. Later, he tells her that he loves her and wants to stay married to her.

Grant finally realizes how he messed up on his date with Macy. He whips out an engagement ring and pops the question, but Macy doesn't say "yes." All the Spectra gang are wondering what happened to Lauren. When Clarke pays a visit to ask the same thing, everyone gets busy trying to find her. Taylor learns that Brooke knows the truth about the baby and confronts her about it. They finally agree that she was on the plane with Eric. Stephanie finds the dead pilot buried under ice, but can't believe the same fate befell Eric. Eric frees himself and rushes back into the cabin to find Rush attacking Lauren. There is a struggle and Eric fires the crossbow straight through Rush's chest. Maggie shows up at the hospital and reaches for the OFF stitch to Sheila's respirator.

Maggie turned Sheila's respirator off, but Sheila was rescued in time to save her life. Maggie was arrested, but Sheila agreed not to press charges IF she would never come near her or her baby again. Maggie tried to convince James that she did the right thing. Macy and Grant bought Insomnia then hired Katie as a waitress. Stephanie urges Ridge to reconsider his engagement to Brooke, then tells Brooke that she will do everything in her power to get Ridge and Taylor back together. Just as they had given up hope, Eric and Lauren are found and brought home to LA.

Brooke questioned Ridge's true feelings. Just as Taylor was telling Ridge about the baby, Brooke announced that she is pregnant. James spends Christmas at Sheila's bedside. He tells Maggie that he has not seen any signs of insanity from Sheila and he plans to stay with her and the baby. Maggie and Mike team up to kidnap Sheila. They install her in the Bates Motel from the movie Psycho!

Mike, Maggie and Mike's doctor-brother kidnap Sheila and tie her to the bed in the "Bates Motel" from the movie Psycho. Maggie visits James to try to get close to him again, but he pushes her away. Amber is given a chance to sing at Insomnia. Taylor demands proof that Brooke is pregnant or she will stand up at the wedding and announce that she is pregnant with Ridge's child. Brooke moves her wedding up from 2 o'clock to 1 o'clock while at the same time, making a date to meet Taylor at 1 o'clock to give her the test results.
