When three-time Emmy winner Sarah Brown (Julia Larrabee) signed on for a short-term engagement with CBS's As the World Turns last summer, she probably never anticipated the amount of fan ire that her new role would generate.

After less than three months as a member of the As the World Turns cast, soapcentral.com has learned that newcomer AJ Lamas (Rafael Ortega) has been let go. The role will be recast.

Film legend and original All My Children and As the World Turns cast member Ruth Warrick (Edith Hughes) passed away on Saturday, January 15th at 12:15AM in her Manhattan home. Official reports list the cause of Ms. Warrick's death as complications from pneumonia. She was 88.

In a surprise casting move sure to please As the World Turns fans, a show spokesperson confirms that Emmy winner Benjamin Hendrickson (ex-Hal Munson) will be returning to the show in May.

In a stunning turn of events, soapcentral.com has learned that three-time Emmy winning head writer Hogan Sheffer will not be returning to his position at As the World Turns. Earlier this year, Sheffer took time off from the show for what called a "17-week sabbatical."
