Parisse exit date set

As announced back in February, Emmy-nominated
Annie Parisse (
Julia) will be leaving As the World Turns.
In March, Parisse announced that she would be leaving the show after landing a part in the primetime drama,
Big Apple.
Apple was not, however, picked up for the fall season and Parisse agreed to extend her contract, which was also set to expire in March.
Internet rumors are already speculating that the ATWT writers will use Parisse's exit as a way to wrap up the show's "bomber" storyline. After all, writing Julia as the one who caused the explosion at the boathouse would mean that another character wouldn't have to be written out of the show.
Parisse, who earned a Daytime Emmy nomination this past year for her work on ATWT will exit on Tuesday, August 22nd. The role of Julia will not be recast according to a show source.
