Emmy Award-winner producer Jacqueline Babbin died of cancer on October 6 in Kent, Connecticut.

Born in 1921, Babbin was a former producer of All My Children (from 1982 to 1986) and Loving (from 1990 to 1991). Prior to her work on the soaps, Babbin worked on Broadway. Babbin eventually made the move to television, where she served as a producer for The Bells of St. Mary's and The Philadelphia Story. Her work on the 1976 tele-movie Sybil earned four Emmy awards, including one for production.

After retiring in 1991, Babbin penned two mystery novels.

Though her excellence as a producer will perhaps forever be what Babbin is known for, a quote attributed to her may forever live on in the daytime community. "The bad news is, we're killing you off," Babbin is reported to have said. "The good news is we're getting a great storyline out of it."

Babbin was 80 years old.
