Esta TerBlanche leaving; Darnell Williams staying

It looks like Gillian Lavery will finally embrace the afterlife. Actress Esta TerBlanche has filmed her final All My Children scenes.
While it had been widely expected that TerBlanche would remain onboard through the November Sweeps period, that's not going to be the case. It looks like AMC's new head writer Richard Culliton has decided to wrap up Gillian's storyline quickly.
TerBlanche taped her final scenes earlier this month. Gillian will make her last on-air appearance on September 26. [Editor's note: Date has been changed to October 2 due to pre-emptions.]
In related afterlife news, Emmy winner Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard) will remain on the show. Williams, who inked a short-term contract earlier this year,
